Without change there would be no butterflies

This quote was the e-mail response of an Italian friend in the course of a correspondence in which we had discussed our views on the current times of change.

The quote makes us think. As it shifts our perspective to another, higher level. As if we were sitting on a cloud and looking at the events of this world.

Since the Covid lockdown I have published 56 stories on story.one. Partly experiences from the past, partly thoughts about current events or encounters in our charity shop, where I work about 15 hours a week as a volunteer. Wearing facial masks is obligatory.

And so I am happy, like my colleagues, that we can spend the rest of the day more or less without masks. Peter and I are constantly looking for new alternatives to previous habits with the aim of being able to breathe more freely. Literally and figuratively.

I used to take the bus from time to time to the nearby city where I like to take a stroll through the old town and along the avenida. Now, in order to avoid having to wear masks, we (a group of ladies) have started to use the option of car sharing, although going by bus is free of charge.

We have also decided to outsource our supermarket purchases. The son of a neighbour had offered to do the shopping and with his helpfulness he earns himself a welcome pocket money. The number of his customers is growing.

And since comprehensive information is increasingly important in these challenging times, we have switched to using alternative media on the Internet in addition to television news. On youtube, for example, there are numerous channels that regularly post well-researched video reports.. Small internet TV stations are making a big splash and in one case sponsors have even organised a zeppelin for advertising purposes.

In addition, we get to know online interesting and knowledgable people, of whom we have hardly heard before. A Viennese psychiatrist and neurologist who explains the events from his professional point of view and experience; a German-American lawyer, who analyses correlations from the perspective of an experienced counsellor and has even become politically active; a German publicist and Doctor of Philosophy who has given me so many aha moments that I will never forget. Big thanks to all of them.

Furthermore, there are numerous medical doctors from all over the world and from various disciplines who approach the Covid crisis with their professional expertise and who share their knowledge of many years of qualified scientific research. Wow! I am really impressed. And it feels good to be energetically connected with authentic and competent human beings who are able to broaden our horizon.

There are so many brilliant minds out there who had "hidden" somewhere and who have gradually been coming to the surface of public perception since the Covid lockdown.

Many thanks to all those who are united with each other on their way from caterpillar to butterfly.
